AGRITECHNICA ASIA 2026 has further strengthened its position as the leading trade fair for crop production, smart farming and agricultural innovation in Asia. Held under the guiding theme “Farm. Farmer. Future.” from 20 to 22 May 2026, the event, organized by DLG (German Agricultural Society), attracted more than 12,000 visitors from 72 countries and brought together international exhibitors, dealers, buyers and industry experts at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Thailand. Together with the co-located HortEx exhibition, organized by Nova Exhibitions and VEAS, AGRITECHNICA ASIA once again confirmed its role as a central platform for innovation, business development, technology transfer and knowledge exchange across Asia.
With the strong international turnout, alongside 367 exhibitors from 30 countries, AGRITECHNICA ASIA has underlined its strong international profile on both the exhibitor and visitor side. Among the 12,000 visitors from 72 countries, particularly strong representation came from China, India, Malaysia, Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan. In the independent survey conducted on-site, exhibitors and visitors reported high satisfaction with exchange, the international reach and the business outcomes.
Co-organized by the Thai Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the exhibition focused on practical solutions for mechanization, digital farming, smart farming, sustainable crop production and resilient agricultural systems. Germany participated as the official partner country, represented by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (BMLEH), and showcased agricultural expertise and innovation at the German Pavilion and accompanying conference program.
“AGRITECHNICA ASIA in Bangkok once again demonstrated its role as the key platform for the future of agriculture in Asia. Innovation, international networking and concrete business opportunities come together here – exactly what the industry needs to address the major challenges facing agriculture in the years ahead,” said Katharina Staske, Managing Director DLG Markets Asia Pacific, organizer of AGRITECHNICA ASIA.
“AGRITECHNICA ASIA has become an essential platform for advancing sustainable agriculture and strengthening food security across Thailand and the wider ASEAN region. At a time of rapid change in global agriculture, international cooperation and agricultural innovation are more important than ever,” said Mr. Watcharapol Khaokham, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand, co-host of the exhibition. “The exhibition provides an important opportunity for stakeholders across the region to exchange knowledge, build partnerships and shape the future of farming together.”
Asia’s hub for agricultural innovation and technology transfer
The core mission of AGRITECHNICA ASIA 2026 was to advance technological innovation for Asian agriculture. Numerous exhibitors presented new products and solutions, including innovations in mechanization, precision farming, automation and digital applications. The inaugural AGRITECHNICA ASIA “Applied Technology Trophy” recognized practical technologies with strong relevance for Asian farming systems. The new Startup Day and the Agrifuture Zone further highlighted the growing importance of agricultural startup ecosystems and innovation networks across Asia.
Business platform for Asia’s agricultural markets
In addition to innovation, business exchange was at the core of the exhibition. The business matching program connected international exhibitors directly with top buyers, dealers and decision-makers from key Asian agricultural markets. Demand was particularly strong in the sectors of mechanization, crop production, irrigation, sugarcane, maize, rice and specialty crops. The Dealer Forum provided a platform for manufacturers and distribution partners to build partnerships and expand dealer networks across Asia.
“AGRITECHNICA ASIA in Bangkok was a fantastic event. We're grateful to DLG for their warm hospitality and the valuable platform to share AxisTech's knowledge and solutions on stage. The calibre of contacts and connections we made was exceptional, and we're already looking forward to the next one,” said Wes Lawrence, Managing Director, AxisTech Group.
Connecting science, innovation and agricultural practice in Asia
The conference and technical programme of AGRITECHNICA ASIA 2026 featured more than 60 events with over 200 speakers. Organized with international partners from science, policy and industry, the programme focused on sustainable mechanization, digitalization, climate-resilient farming and food security, highlighting practical solutions and knowledge exchange for Asia’s agricultural future.
Future Farmers Program highlights practical exchange
A further highlight was the Future Farmers Program, which placed farmers and practical agricultural exchange at the center of the exhibition. The program included guided exhibition tours, farmer exchange formats, awards and field visit opportunities aimed at strengthening practical learning, skills development and the connection between farmers and new technologies.
AGRITECHNICA ASIA: alternating between Bangkok and Vietnam
AGRITECHNICA ASIA will continue to expand its presence across Asia. The next edition of AGRITECHNICA ASIA will take place from 17 to 19 March 2027 in Vietnam. The exhibition will then return to Bangkok from 17 to 19 May 2028. By alternating between Vietnam and Thailand, DLG continues to strengthen its international exhibition portfolio while creating long-term platforms for innovation, business exchange and sustainable agricultural development in Southeast Asia and beyond.
