We make standards and regulations understandable and show what farmers need to consider.
We see ourselves as an innovative body for the development of ideas and suggestions as well as for the critical and constructive evaluation of all areas of standardisation and regulations in agricultural engineering and their classification in upstream and downstream areas as well as society as a whole. Issues relating to road safety, occupational safety and the technical design of products and processes are important focal points.
The DLG Committee for Standards and Regulations
The DLG Committee for Standards and Regulations is established in the Agricultural Technology Department and is currently made up of 13 full members and eleven guests. In addition to agriculture and consulting, we also represent industry and trade. As the topic also involves legal issues, the committee also includes representatives from the German Ministry of Agriculture (BMEL), the German Engineering Federation (VDMA), the German Farmers' Association (DBV), the German Federation of Cooperative Employers' Liability Insurance Associations (BLB) and the Board of Trustees for Technology and Construction in Agriculture (KTBL).
Activities and areas of responsibility of the committee
- Regular committee meetings on upcoming topics relating to standards and regulations (twice a year)
- Organisation of visits and excursions as part of the committee meetings to clarify upcoming problems using practical examples
- Active dissemination of the opinions formed in the committee through publications and DLG leaflets, as well as involvement in official bodies, e.g. standardisation committees
