Best Newcomer 2022

Short portrait

Annemarie Paulsen inspires her followers with funny videos taken directly from her everyday life on the farm in the Uckermark region. With her comedic talent, she leaves every farmer wondering: "How is it that she knows our farm?”

Jury reasoning

Annemarie Paulsen is the Till Eulenspiegel of Agri Influencers and makes everyone laugh with her funny videos. In front of the camera, she slips into various characters such as "Farmer Helmut" or different types of milkers, remains authentic in all of them and enjoyably exaggerates clichés and everyday situations that many people know from their own farm or from the village. In this way she creates a sense of community and smiling pride in country life. She wants to get people excited about agriculture and arouse interest, because humour lowers the inhibition threshold to ask questions and causes a different perspective.

The jury was impressed by Paulsen's comedic talent, her good sense of timing and punchlines, and the solid technical editing of her videos. She interacts a lot with her community - be it in creative, elaborate hands-on activities as well as through constant reactions to comments. She picks up on current (social media) trends, gives them an agrarian twist and runs her account with consistency and continuity.

Annemarie Paulsen started with "biohof_paulsen" on Instagram in May 2022 and already has 7,500 followers on her profile in November 2022. The jury is excited to see where the journey will take us.

Best Blogger 2022

Short portrait

Jury reasoning

Amos Venema is a farmer with a high degree of public influence. He is active in various media for a better knowledge about the work in agriculture as well as for an awareness and understanding of life in agriculture. With his level-headed manner, he also succeeds in reaching the non-agricultural audience. As a blogger at "MyKuhTube", he explains his dairy farming and country life in over 250 films in a very clear and understandable way. He is also active on Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok, reaching around 2 million people a month via these channels. He writes for agricultural magazines and is also invited to radio, television and print media for features and reports.

The jury was impressed by Venema's comprehensible, persistent and friendly work and its impact beyond the agricultural sphere. He thinks and goes outside the box and doesn't shy away from argumentative and emotional engagement.

Best Influencer 2022

Short portrait

Thomas Andresen from the very north of Germany is not only a distinctive figure because of his buffalo herd. He explains agriculture directly into the camera, without using much technology. He remains curious about other perspectives and new social media channels.

Jury reasoning

Thomas Andresen is one of the most prominent agricultural influencers in Germany. He usually expresses himself in the form of videos in which he speaks directly into the camera and explains certain aspects of his management on the dairy and buffalo farm or comments on current socio-political issues. He would like to explain the reasons for his actions and his search for alternatives to the traditional way of doing business. He originally targeted a non-agricultural audience in order to refute prejudices. But he quickly noticed that he was inspiring his colleagues with questioning his own work and his passion for agriculture. He is in touch with different corners of the agricultural discussion, whether organic or conventional, German Farmers' Association or LSV.

The jury emphasized Andresen's natural talent, which grabs, expands and keeps his followers engaged without using more complex social media tools. His willingness to discuss other points of view and to utilize different social media platforms make him stand out and is also visible in the interaction on his profiles.

Andresen started his social media activities on Facebook while taking part in the ZDF series "Die Büffelranch", then expanded his Instagram account (November 2022: 50,100 followers) and is now active on Tiktok (November 2022: 136,100 followers).
