Initiative Platform
for Arable Farming

Initiative Platform for Arable Farming is a cross-industry network that systematically identifies, evaluates, and addresses quality and process challenges in arable farming. It provides a neutral framework for professional exchange along the entire value chain – from agricultural production through trade and processing to retail.

The initiative aims to jointly identify key issues, understand their root causes, and develop practical, sustainable solutions. Another focus is clear and factual communication to create transparency, build trust, and convey relevant developments in an understandable way.

Quality, transparency, collaboration along the value chain

The initiative strengthens quality and transparency in the arable farming value chain to successfully address topics such as quality assurance, resource efficiency, and sustainability through coordinated collaboration among all stakeholders.

Core objectives include:

Coordination along the value chain

Cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience exchange

Developing hands-on solutions together

Transparent communication within the value chain and with the public

Focus areas

The initiative focuses primarily on the key crops of German arable farming: cereals, oilseeds, and sugar beet.

Its priorities include quality, resource efficiency, CO₂ balances, biodiversity, crop rotations, as well as product- and process-related challenges that arise in agricultural practice and processing.

Working approach

The platform follows a structured, scientifically grounded approach to addressing quality and process-related issues. This includes:

  • Identification and categorization of problem areas
  • Analysis of risk parameters and entry pathways for quality deficiencies
  • Root cause clarification and development of practical solutions

Work is carried out in an interdisciplinary and collaborative manner, involving relevant experts across the production and processing chain.

Network and sponsorship

The platform is supported by a broad alliance of relevant professional and industry associations. This cooperation enables a cross-disciplinary perspective on challenges and solutions that go beyond individual crops or process steps.
