With our work, we support progress in organic farming and organic animal farming and provide ideas for farm management.

We promote cross-association exchange and cooperation between farmers for successful organic farming. We discuss current specialist topics and strengthen communication within the organic farming sector. Our goal is to promote best practice, increase knowledge and promote the development of this important branch of industry.

The DLG Committee for Organic Farming

Organic farmers from all over Germany work together in the Committee for Organic Farming. Its work focuses on innovations in the production of organic products, developments in the markets for organic products and the further development of marketing strategies as well as analyses of the strengths and weaknesses of organic farming. The result of the committee's work is the transfer of knowledge between organic farmers at our network meetings (in person and online), at public events and in the form of publications and podcasts. 

Activities and areas of responsibility of the committee
  • Committee workshops on production technology, business management topics, markets and marketing
  • Panel discussions at the DLG Winter Conference, forum events at AGRITECHNICA, EuroTier and DLG Feldtage, podcast on organic farming
  • Creation of leaflets and podcasts on innovations in organic farming such as mechanical weed control, nutrient management, digitalization and robotics
