EnergyDecentral 2026 Innovation Award now open for nominations
10–13 November 2026 – DLG presents innovation awards for pioneering concepts and developments in decentralized energy – applications now open – energy-decentral.com – Submission deadline 31 July 2026
As part of the international leading trade fair for decentralized energy supply, the DLG (German Agricultural Society), as organizer, is continuing the “Innovation Award EnergyDecentral” for this year’s edition. This award recognizes the outstanding importance of the decentralized energy sector in shaping a sustainable energy supply for the future. The award recognizes innovative, fully functional products that demonstrate strong practical relevance and are close to market readiness. Exhibitors can now apply and submit their innovations for a medal.
The leading trade fair for decentralized energy generation, EnergyDecentral takes place from November 10 to 13 in Hanover, Germany, alongside the world’s leading trade fair for livestock technologies, EuroTier. In this context, the trade fair presents the “Innovation Award EnergyDecentral”.
The Innovation Award EnergyDecentral is the leading technology award for decentralized energy generation. The winners are selected by an independent international jury of experts appointed by the DLG Innovation Commission. The award, which was incepted in 2014, recognizes products in which functionality has been fundamentally advanced and whose use enables new processes or significantly improves existing ones.
A Gold Innovation Medal is awarded to a product with a new concept in which functionality has changed substantially, enabling new processes or significantly improving existing ones. Key evaluation criteria include practical relevance, impact on farm and operational economics, environmental effects, and contributions to the energy system. Additionally, improvements in ease of work and occupational safety are taken into account.
A Silver Innovation Medal is awarded to a product that significantly enhances an existing product, resulting in a notable improvement in functionality or processes, though not fully meeting the criteria for a gold medal. Key selection criteria include economic relevance for practice, work performance, work quality, and operational reliability. Positive environmental and energy impacts are also considered. Award-winning products must be fully functional at the time of exhibition and available on the market no later than EnergyDecentral 2028.
