Preparations Underway for AGRITECHNICA ASIA 2027 in Vietnam

17-19 March 2027, at SECC, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – AGRITECHNICA ASIA returns to Vietnam following successful debut – DLG and Vietnam’s agricultural ministry continue to deepen cooperation in agricultural modernization, mechanization and knowledge transfer

Preparations are underway for AGRITECHNICA ASIA 2027, which will take place from 17 to 19 March 2027 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Following the successful introduction of Vietnam as an additional host venue in 2025, the leading indoor trade fair for crop production and smart farming in Asia will once again bring together more than 12,000 agricultural professionals and over 300 international exhibitors. Organized by the DLG (German Agricultural Society) and officially co-hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAE) of Vietnam, the trade fair serves as a platform for agricultural innovation, mechanization, knowledge exchange and business development across Southeast Asia.

AGRITECHNICA ASIA alternates between Thailand and Vietnam, bringing international expertise, practical solutions and professional exchange to two of Southeast Asia's most dynamic agricultural markets. Following the Bangkok edition in 2026, the exhibition returns to Vietnam where agricultural mechanization, digital transformation and sustainable crop production are playing an increasingly important role in the country's agricultural development.

"The close partnership between DLG and Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has created a strong foundation for AGRITECHNICA ASIA in Vietnam. Together, we are helping to connect international expertise with the needs of farmers and agribusinesses across Southeast Asia,” says Katharina Staske, Managing Director, DLG Markets Asia Pacific.

“AGRITECHNICA ASIA is not only a showcase for agricultural technology, but also a platform where farmers, cooperatives, contractors and agribusinesses exchange ideas on mechanization, farm management, precision farming and future investment decisions.”

AGRITECHNICA ASIA is complemented by a comprehensive technical programme featuring international presentations across key industry pillars: the foundations of sustainable productivity, including soil health, plant health and nutrient management; bridging the machinery gap between production and post-harvest operations, including traceability and post-harvest management; and enabling environments for agricultural development through agricultural finance and public-private partnerships.

Conference topics were jointly identified by the Department of Cooperatives and Rural Development, the bureau designated by MAE to guide the national technical programme for AGRITECHNICA ASIA.

Visitors to AGRITECHNICA ASIA 2027, including farmers, cooperatives, contractors, dealers, distributors, agribusinesses and policymakers from Vietnam and across Southeast Asia, can expect solutions for soil preparation, seeding, fertilization, crop protection, harvesting, transport and farm management. Precision agriculture, smart irrigation, automation, and digital farming will be among the key focus areas, reflecting growing demand for more productive, resource-efficient and climate-resilient farming systems throughout the region.

AGRITECHNICA ASIA's return to Vietnam reflects a growing partnership between the DLG and Vietnam's agricultural sector. Over recent years, cooperation has expanded through joint activities in agricultural mechanization, knowledge exchange and professional training. The collaboration is supported by Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and aims to facilitate the transfer of practical solutions and international expertise to farmers and agribusinesses across the country.

The cooperation has developed steadily since AGRITECHNICA ASIA Live was held in Can Tho, Vietnam, in 2022. The field demonstration and outdoor event focused on mechanization and practical solutions for rice production in the Mekong Delta and laid important foundations for the subsequent expansion of AGRITECHNICA ASIA into Vietnam. Cooperation was further strengthened through the successful launch of AGRITECHNICA ASIA in Vietnam in 2025, collaboration with Vietnam Agriculture and Nature Newspaper (VAN), and regular exchanges and visits between Vietnamese and German agricultural experts.

Vietnam's focus on mechanization, digital transformation and sustainable agricultural development aligns closely with AGRITECHNICA ASIA's objective of bringing practical solutions and knowledge to farmers throughout the region. Recent exchanges between DLG and Vietnamese partners have placed particular emphasis on agricultural mechanization, technology transfer and professional training, areas that are increasingly important for improving productivity, sustainability and climate resilience in agriculture.

Partners for AGRITECHNICA ASIA 2027 beyond MAE, include the International Cooperation Department, the Department of Cooperatives and Rural Development, GIZ Vietnam, and the International Rice Research Institute.

As a non-profit organization, DLG’s regional engagement transcends commercial exhibitions. Working alongside ministries, research bodies, and industry leaders, DLG facilitates sustainable agricultural development through technology transfer and international knowledge exchange. Through flagship initiatives, including the AGRIFUTURE Conference, AGRITECHNICA ASIA Live, and partnerships with events like the International Rice Congress, DLG remains dedicated to aligning research, policy, and field-level practice throughout Asia.

AGRITECHNICA ASIA builds on the success of AGRITECHNICA in Hanover, Germany, which has showcased agricultural technology since 1985 and today is recognized as the world's leading trade fair for agricultural machinery. First launched in Bangkok in 2017, AGRITECHNICA ASIA has developed into Asia's leading exhibition for crop production and smart farming. The exhibition alternates between Thailand and Vietnam, reflecting the growing demand for agricultural innovation, mechanization and professional knowledge exchange throughout Southeast Asia.
