PotatoEurope & SugarBeet Expo 2026: Europe’s Largest Live Showcase for Root Crop Machinery

On 9 and 10 September 2026, PotatoEurope and the inaugural SugarBeet Expo, two trade fairs for root crop production, will take place jointly at the Rittergut Gestorf estate near Hanover, Germany, bringing together professional potato and sugar beet growers and experts. The organizer, the DLG (German Agricultural Society), expects around 300 exhibitors across the two specialized trade fairs, which include live operating equipment in the field.

The extensive machinery demonstrations is a particular highlight for professional farmers who will be able to experience the equipment live in the field. With 50 demonstration exhibits including all leading industry manufacturers represented, the event will be one of the largest and most comprehensive practical meeting places for professional potato and sugar beet crop production in Europe.

Across the two event days, the event will cover the complete production chain for potatoes and sugar beet under real operating conditions, ranging from planting and seeding technology to harvesting, transport, cleaning and loading, as well as modern crop protection solutions. The demonstrations will provide visitors with first-hand insights into the latest developments in agricultural engineering and enable direct comparisons in terms of performance, efficiency, precision and soil protection.

From Planting Technology to Loading Logistics

In the potato sector, a total of 30 demonstration units will be presented. These include planting equipment, potato harvesters of various capacity classes ranging from trailed single-row machines to four-row harvesters, transport solutions, as well as cleaning and loading systems. Machines already signed up include the Grimme EVO 280 Multi Crop; the AVR Spirit 7200 and the Dewulf RA 3060.

In the sugar beet sector, 10 machines and machinery combinations will demonstrate modern seeding technology, high-capacity sugar beet harvesters, and solutions for transport, cleaning and loading. The Ropa Tiger 6S is registered.

These demonstrations will provide visitors with a unique overview of the entire technical process chain for modern potato and sugar beet production over the course of two exhibition days.

Field Demonstrations on 9 and 10 September 

Potato and sugar beet machinery demonstrations will run in parallel on each event day from 10:00 to 12:30 and from 14:30 to 17:00. 

The demonstration "Innovative Crop Protection Technology for Row Crops" will take place daily from 14:00 to 14:30 and will be moderated in German by Harald Kramer, Chamber of Agriculture of North Rhine-Westphalia (LWK Nordrhein-Westfalen).

DLG Spotlight: Digital Farming powered by FarmRobotix

Another highlight for innovation- and technology-oriented visitors is the DLG Spotlight "Digital Farming powered by FarmRobotix". Here, DLG will present the latest developments in robotics, automation, artificial intelligence and data management for root crop production. 

Live demonstrations, practical case studies and expert discussions will showcase how autonomous machines and digital systems can contribute to greater efficiency, precision and sustainability in crop production. Visitors will gain insights into technologies that are already transforming agricultural practice today and helping to shape the future of root crop farming. 

Through its FarmRobotix platform, DLG brings together farmers, manufacturers, research institutions and investors, creating a central meeting point for the exchange of knowledge on pioneering technologies and digital applications in crop production.
