Philippine Hour: A Milestone at EuroTier 2024

The Philippine Hour at EuroTier 2024 showcased the country’s agricultural ambitions, emphasizing innovation and international collaboration. Led by Undersecretary Alvin John Balagbag of the Philippine Department of Agriculture, the session highlighted €16.5 million in planned R&D investments for livestock mechanization, along with annual allocations of €163 million for rice and maize mechanization and postharvest development.

The event, graced by Dr. Ophelia Nick, State Secretary of Germany’s Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, and Ambassador Irene Susan B. Natividad, facilitated meaningful dialogue and follow-up engagements between the Philippines and European stakeholders.

Discussions also underscored innovative partnerships, including the Philippines’ potential as the first Country of Honour for AGRITECHNICA Asia in 2025 and 2026.

The event sparked productive exchanges, with follow-up discussions continuing outside the Messe and during networking events, marking a significant step forward in strengthening international partnerships and driving agricultural innovation.
