DLG Feldtage 2026: Meeting Place for Expert Knowledge in Direct Exchange

16–18 June 2026 in Bernburg, Germany – Technical program with wide range of topics: Oil and protein crops, resilient cropping systems and successful management of weather risks – dlg-feldtage.de

Set within the open‑air grounds and trial fields of the DLG Feldtage 2026 event, which will take place from 16 to 18 June 2026 at the trial fields of the DLG International Crop Production Centre in Bernburg, the “Meeting Points” offer space for discussions with experts and practitioners. In line with this year’s guiding theme “Crop Production out of the Box”, professional crop growers will have the opportunity to discuss current issues relating to oil and protein crops, resilient cropping systems, and weather risk management, as well as to obtain information on organic farming such as opportunities, challenges and future prospects. At the opening of the open‑air exhibition, the organiser DLG (German Agricultural Society) expects more than 300 exhibitors.

DLG Feldtage 2026 are the central meeting place for crop production professionals, offering an extensive exhibition and technical program covering key topics such as crop production, plant breeding, crop protection and fertilization. In addition to DLG Spotlights, DLG Stages, machinery demonstrations, FarmRobotix and pop‑up talks, the Meeting Points provide another attractive and informative focal point for visitors.

Meeting Point “Oil and Protein Crops” (Stand VA22)

As a dedicated meeting point for oil and protein crops, DLG technical partner Union for the Promotion of Oil and Protein Crops (UFOP) is showcasing the importance of oilseed rape, sunflowers and grain legumes for nutrition, energy and protein supply, across 800 square meters of trial plots,. The focus is on current challenges and opportunities,  ranging from varieties and cultivation to marketing, climate adaptation and crop protection.

In addition to conventional “00” oilseed rape and varieties with alternative oil qualities such as erucic acid rape and HOLL rape, the field trials also feature oilseed rape varieties resistant to clubroot and beet mild yellowing virus.

Another key focus of the UFOP presentation is on grain legumes, including field beans, field peas, blue and white sweet lupins and soybeans. UFOP works closely with LeguNet, part of the German Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (BMLEH) protein crop strategy. Advisors from this demonstration network will be available on site as co‑exhibitors at the UFOP stand to answer questions on both conventional and organic production.

Meeting Point “Resilient Cropping Systems” (Stand VE31)

Under the motto “Conserving resources – securing the future”, the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE) will present activities and topics related to resilient cropping systems at DLG Feldtage 2026. The focus will be on solutions to key crop production challenges: adaptation to climate change, conservation of natural resources, preservation of biodiversity and the use of digital technologies. As a project management agency, BLE supports research and innovation projects from the initial idea through to practical application.

Meeting Point “Successfully Managing Weather Risks” (Stand VA31)

Hail, storms, heavy rainfall, frost or drought can damage crops, even resulting in total crop failure. Experience with damage events shows that even on larger farms with land spread across several municipalities, internal risk diversification is no longer sufficient. For this reason, Vereinigte Hagelversicherung (English: United Hail Insurance) offers visitors the opportunity at its stand to identify the most significant risks to their businesses and explore suitable insurance options. Experts will demonstrate how Vereinigte Hagelversicherung simulates damage scenarios and collects objective data through its own trial systems to assess losses.

Organisers and partners

Co-organizers include the Ministry of Economic Affairs Link, Tourism, Agriculture and Forestry of Saxony-Anhalt, the State Institute for Agriculture and Horticulture, and AGRAVIS Raiffeisen AG. Professional partners such as Vereinigte Hagel Insurance Mutual Association VVaG, the Union for the Promotion of Oil and Protein Plants (UFOP), the Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food, and other organizations will support the open-air exhibition as part of the technical program.
