DLG Feldtage 2026: Key networking Platform for Innovation and Strategies in Crop Production_

International meeting place for crop production professionals – exhibitors from plant breeding, crop protection, fertilisation, agricultural machinery and advisory services presented solutions for productive and sustainable cropping systems – Technical program with application-focused formats and live field machinery demonstrations – 16–18 June 2026 at the International DLG Crop Production Center in Bernburg, Germany – dlg-feldtage.de

The DLG Feldtage 2026 field event clearly demonstrated what defines future-ready crop production: the integration of plant breeding, cultivation strategies, digitalisation and modern agricultural technology. From 16 to 18 June, the International DLG Crop Production Center in Bernburg-Strenzfeld became a hub for practical innovation, technical guidance and intensive exchange. Under the guiding theme “Crop Production out of the Box”, the event highlighted how closely the different components of arable farming are interconnected today – and the importance of integrated solutions for resilient, productive and sustainable production systems.

Organized by the DLG (German Agricultural Society), the DLG Feldtage 2026 brought together around 13,400 trade visitors from 48 countries in Bernburg, Germany, in addition to more than 1,800 representatives per day from the 341 exhibitors, professional partners and other industry stakeholders from 21 nations. The share of international participants increased to over 11 percent. The event is therefore - despite the currently challenging economic environment for many farms - an effective networking platform for exchange with forward-looking farms and key players along the crop production value chain.

New varieties, innovative cultivation methods, digital solutions, crop protection strategies, robotics and high-performance agricultural machinery were not only presented in a practice-oriented way, but also assessed in direct exchange between farmers, advisors, researchers and industry. The DLG Feldtage thereby underlined its role as a platform for knowledge transfer, practical comparison and addressing the key challenges facing arable farming.

Very high visitor satisfaction and strong interest in practical solutions

The results of the visitor survey confirm the high relevance of the DLG Feldtage for agricultural practice. Some 96 percent of surveyed trade visitors indicated that they were very satisfied or satisfied with the technical content. Exhibitor offerings achieved approval ratings of over 98 percent. The results underline the high professional level of the visitors. The average farm size of surveyed participants from agriculture was 684 hectares. 71 percent of agricultural visitors are decision-makers for purchasing and procurement.

The DLG Feldtage has attracted forward-looking, investment-oriented farms with a strong interest in practical solutions for efficient and resilient cropping systems. Seed and varieties, agricultural machinery, crop protection, fertilization and organic farming were among the most in-demand topics.

Exhibitors also rated the event positively, highlighting in particular the high quality of professional discussions, the direct exchange with decision-makers from farming practice, and the strong interest in concrete innovations for modern cropping systems.

“The DLG Feldtage 2026 event has shown that future-ready crop production is shaped by the interaction of breeding, cropping systems, technology and management. Innovations are most effective when they are developed as part of an integrated system and aligned with the requirements of practical farming,” says Tobias Eichberg, Managing Director of DLG Markets GmbH.

Andreas Steul, Project Manager of the DLG Feldtage, emphasises: “A defining characteristic of the DLG Feldtage remains the consistent focus on practical application. Professional visitors were able to experience innovations directly in the field and assess their relevance for their own operations, from new breeding approaches and more precise cultivation strategies to digital technologies, robotics and AI-supported solutions.”

Technical program provided strong impulses for farm-level decision-making

The technical program, featuring 198 sessions, addressed key issues in crop production through specialist forums, spotlights, pop-up talks, guided tours and discussion formats, ranging from resource efficiency, climate adaptation and weed management to new crops, digitalization, precision farming and viable production systems. Field trials and demonstration plots further enabled visitors to experience new varieties, cultivation methods and strategies for managing weed pressure, weather risks and resource efficiency in a practical way.

This has demonstrated that future-ready crop production arises where site-adapted variety selection, intelligent crop rotations, precise methods and modern technology work hand in hand. A particular highlight for visitors was once again the live machinery demonstration: with 66 machine combinations, the DLG Feldtage presented Europe’s largest field machinery demonstration, enhanced by drone and webcam footage transmitted to large LED screens for spectators.

Greater focus on value chains

Beyond traditional crop production, DLG Feldtage 2026 placed increased emphasis on the entire value chain. This was particularly evident in the DLG Spotlight “Wheat Value Chain”, where the connections from cultivation through quality assurance and processing to food retail were demonstrated in a practical and accessible way.

The next DLG Feldtage event will take place from 20 to 22 June 2028 at the Domäne Beberbeck near Kassel in Germany.

Exhibitor voices

-“We took part in the DLG Feldtage specifically to engage in direct, personal dialogue with decision-makers at farm level, particularly as our day-to-day business is largely conducted in a B2B environment. Within the focused three-day setting, our aim was to discuss current challenges, listen carefully, and present concrete, pragmatic and sustainable solutions in variety selection. We were especially pleased to successfully introduce our new varieties into discussions and effectively position topics such as soybean cultivation, supported by a highly prepared and motivated team and consistently positive customer feedback. Farmers are enthusiastic about innovation, particularly breeding progress, and value honest advice in a constructive and open atmosphere. This is why personal exchange remains irreplaceable despite the abundance of media channels,”
Franz Beutl, Managing Director, I.G. Pflanzenzucht GmbH.

-“CLAAS participated in the DLG Feldtage to showcase our machinery and digital solutions directly in a practical farming context. The focus of our stand concept was CLAAS connect; in addition, we presented strong product highlights with the AXION 9 and the NUTRIMETER GRAIN in the LEXION. We are taking away many valuable insights from our discussions—notably a clear demand for solutions that increase efficiency and make everyday work easier,”
Elena Glitz, Head of Marketing, CLAAS Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH.

-“The highlights of the DLG Feldtage is to me always the personal conversations with farmers. This year, it became very clear how urgently crop protection innovations are needed to address challenges such as leafhopper vectors, blackgrass and resistance management in order to continue producing economically viable, healthy and regionally sourced food. Accordingly, there was strong interest at our stand in Luximo as a promising solution for controlling blackgrass, a new active ingredient that has been awaiting approval for years,”
Markus Röser, Head of Communications, Public Affairs & Sustainability Northern Europe, BASF Agricultural Solutions DE.

-“The DLG Feldtage provide an ideal platform for us to engage in direct exchange with farmers, partners and industry experts and to build valuable contacts. The excellent organization and the high professional quality of discussions stood out in particular. We especially appreciated being able to see the latest technologies and innovations from agricultural machinery manufacturers, start-ups and plant breeders live in practice. From the event, we take away a clear confirmation that demand for automation solutions in agriculture continues to grow and that our products make an important contribution to a more efficient and future-ready agriculture,”
Josef Schmidt, Managing Director, digital workbench gmbh.

-“The DLG Feldtage is a key platform for direct exchange with the agricultural sector, research, partners and policymakers. What stands out in particular is the strong practical relevance and the wide range of innovative solutions for modern crop production. That is why we were very pleased to be a co-organiser of the DLG Feldtage this year. The many discussions underline how important dialogue and networking are for the future of the sector. Our key takeaway is that we can only successfully address challenges together,”Dr. Olaf Günther-Borstel, Managing director, AGRAVIS Ost GmbH
