Your donation will be used for the realisation of selected reforestation projects in German forests. Specifically, your donation will be used to purchase planting material, commission specialist companies to carry out the planting and care for the newly planted trees until they are large enough to survive on their own.
The costs for planting a tree, including preparation of the site and the seedling and planting, including protection against wildlife browsing, average around €2–4, depending on the tree species, planting method and planting intensity. Between 2,000 and 7,000 trees can be planted in one hectare of forest. Depending on the forestry approach, costs of between €10,000 and €25,000 per hectare may be incurred for reforestation.
