EuroTier events: Ukraine and Moldova; China; and Philippines

Representatives from overseas agricultural ministries; Livestock overviews in four countries

(DLG). Hosting several high profile events focusing on livestock issues in Ukraine, Moldova, China and the Philippines, EuroTier 2024 – the leading exhibition for livestock management – will once again be offering an international platform for the international animal production industry.

EuroTier is organized by the DLG (German Agricultural Society), a non-profit organization that aims to promote knowledge-sharing in agriculture, both in Germany and across borders.  Three conferences held at EuroTier 2024, 12-15 November, Hanover, Germany, are examples of DLG’s work that serve to produce inspiring exchanges.

Philippine Hour

DLG is hosting the “Philippine Hour”, a round table seminar and networking event. Innovations in Philippine livestock management and mechanization will be presented. Partnership opportunities will be explored between the Philippines, Germany, and Europe in areas such as research, trade and technological advancements. The Philippine Department of Agriculture will be represented, supported by the Export Promotion Division of Germany’s Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture (BMEL). Presentations titles include “The Philippine Livestock and Poultry Industry Situation. Emerging Opportunities, and Potential Partnerships” and “Philippine Mechanization Interventions for Postharvest in Livestock and Major Crops”.

China Forum: “Innovations and Insights in Chinese and European Livestock Production”

Organized by the DLG, the China Forum event gives an overview of shifting from quantity towards quality - Changes of China animal protein market, a contribution from the Chinese Association of Animal science and Veterinary medicine (CAAV). Big Dutchman China will be presenting a case study entitled “Business in China“, followed by a presentation on the Development of livestock production and Export opportunities for EU welfare products. China's top pig producer, Muyuan Foods, will conclude the program with a contribution headlined “Empowering Large-Scale Pig Farming with Digital Technology and Intelligent Tools”. Ukraine/Moldova Conference: Opportunities and challenges of EU integration for livestock farming in the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine

Organizers: DLG German-Ukrainian Agricultural Policy Dialogue, German-Moldovan Agricultural Policy Dialogue

With the start of accession negotiations with the European Union this year, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine have reached an important milestone. The upcoming integration into the EU requires the 100 percent implementation of EU regulations and is a prerequisite for full integration into the EU internal market. Delivered by some 15 speakers from the agricultural ministry in Moldova, livestock associations in Ukraine, German-Ukrainian and German-Moldovan organizations, the conference covers agribusiness, agricultural policy and livestock production updates in both countries.
