Canadian Dairy XPO: 90 percent sold out for 2025 show
Trade show set to host more than 300 exhibitors – companies to present solutions for Canadian dairy producers: innovation, genetics and education to – Highlights: German Pavilion, “Genetics in Motion”, and “Calves for a cause” – 2 and 3 April in Stratford, Ontario – First edition after DLG’s acquisition
BURLINGTON, Vermont, November 7, 2024 – With five months to go before kick-off, the annual Canadian Dairy XPO (CDX), Canada's largest dairy trade show, is already 90 percent sold out, a record so many months ahead of the show. Acquired by the DLG (German Agricultural Society) in July this year, the trade show takes place in Stratford, Ontario and recorded more than 17,000 attendees at the last event, more than ever before.
“The record number of exhibitor registrations with five months to go till CDX showcases not only the strength in the Canadian Dairy Sector but also reflects that CDX is a valuable tradeshow offering exactly what Canadian dairy producers are looking for,” says Jordan Underhill, president of CDX.
Since its establishment in 2014, CDX has developed into the largest gathering of dairy producers in Canada, attracting more than 300 exhibitors from 35 countries.
Earlier this year, the DLG acquired Underhill Enterprise Inc with its CDX trade show. The trade show will benefit from the agricultural expert knowledge from the DLG, a non-profit organization offering practical agricultural knowledge and some 30 international agricultural exhibitions from all over the world. Since July 2024, CDX has been organized by DLG North America, a subsidiary based in Canada and set up to manage all of DLG’s activities on the North American continent.
A key DLG objective is to further practical farming knowledge around the world. DLG supports the multilateral exchange between large-scale Canadian and international dairy farmers that is expected to take place at this event where 40 percent of the attending producers from Canada hold more than CDN$10 million in operational equity.
CDX 2025 will feature “Genetics In Motion” a tradition at CDX, presenting live dairy daughters from top industry Artificial Insemination (AI) sires. Visitors will be able to inspect them close-up in a natural free stall setup. Top Canadian genetics companies will be participating.
The event “the Canadian Dairy Business Summit” launched at the last CDX will take place again the day before CDX and will feature international speakers who will offer progressive dairy producers applicable farm management know-how. DLG North America plans to bring over a European practical farmer who will present experience from large German dairy farms.
Featured for the third year running, a German pavilion organized by the German Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and supported by the DLG will include German companies with tailored solutions for Canada. The pavilion has proved a highlight among Canadian and American dairy farmers.
Uniting dairy producers and industry professionals, CDX hosts “Calves for a Cause” a charity calf sale that raises fund for the London, ON children’s hospital in 2024 the sale raised a staggering $30,000 for this noble cause.
At the last event held in April 2024, 75 percent of the attendees were under the age of 35, reflecting CDX’s appeal to the upcoming generation of dairy producers, who are looking for technical solutions. Some 40 percent of attending producers hold more than 10 million in operational equity, which further underlines the overall importance of the dairy sector to Canadian agriculture.
