The Sino-German Agricultural Exchange Programme (AEP)

Dear DLG members,

Today we want to showcase an example of DLG’s international project portfolio - The Sino-German Agricultural Exchange Programme (AEP)

The AEP programme is funded by the Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARA). The project is implemented by DLG International with support from the DLG Academy.

The project aims to train young professionals from China and Germany who are employed at Agribusiness companies or organizations. In 2021 around 20 young professionals from China and Germany will participate in an online training programme. This year’s annual topic is “Digital solutions from farm to fork”.

A hybrid version of the exchange in 2021 that combines physical and online formats

The selection of candidates will be finished by the beginning of August 2021. More than 70 interviews have been conducted so far.

The selected participants will attend 7 online seminars on smart farming and digital solutions. Furthermore, they will attend 5 online networking sessions, where they can present their businesses.

A physical ten day study trip to China and Germany is planned in November this year. The study trip will deepen the online experiences and give hands-on impressions of digital solutions in agriculture.

Who can participate?

Young representatives (up to 40 years old) from companies and organizations of the agribusiness sector in Germany who are interested in extending their activities in China. Participants will extend their knowledge and gain valuable contacts to grow their international activities. Furthermore, participating companies get access to an agricultural network of more than 150 young professionals from China and Germany.
