Foundation of the DLG expert Committee South East Asia

In addition to AGRITECHNICA ASIA 2022, the DLG Expert Committee for Southeast Asian Agriculture was founded. After the years of the pandemic, the founding could finally take place in a dignified setting on 26 May in Bangkok, in order to be able to work on current topics together with experts from the region. Dr. Dares Kittiyopas, President of the Thai Society of Agricultural Engineering, was elected as the first chairperson of the committee. Dr. Kittiyopas has successfully supported the activities of the DLG in Thailand for a very long time and is excellently networked in agriculture in the region. The challenges in the region largely coincide with the megatrends in global terms. These include ecologisation, climate change, digitalisation and smart farming, as well as forms of cooperation in agriculture to increase operational potential. Following the founding of the DLG expert committee for eastern Europe in 2018, this expert committee is now the second international committee in the Agricultural Centre of Competence to expand the network globally and provide new insights and knowledge into global agriculture.
