AGROS-2021: Russia`s animal industry is back to business

The international trade fair of technologies for animal production and feed cultivation AGROS brought together 278 exhibitors from 22 countries – With more than 7.000 professional visitors set an unambiguous vector for returning the business to its usual level of activity

(DLG RUS) The second edition of AGROS opened its doors from 18 – 20 May 2021 for professionals. Manufacturers and suppliers from Russia and over 22 countries offered industry professionals from more than 80 Russian regions and neighbouring countries a comprehensive range of technology, equipment, products and services for modern cattle, pig, poultry, goat and rabbit farming, aquaculture, as well as for forage production and feed preparation.

Opening the exhibition, Gennady Shichkin, Deputy Director of the Livestock and Breeding Department of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, read out an official greeting from the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Dzhambulat Khatuov. He noted the high level of the event and its importance in the development of the Russian agro-industrial complex.

In his welcoming speech, the Managing Director of DLG RUS – the organiser of the fair, Gennady Mindru, thanked the participants for being able to come to the exhibition, despite the period of high agricultural activity and assured that the next AGROS trade fair would again take place at a convenient time for agricultural producers - from 25 to 27January 2022.

At this year's AGROS, the focus of the business programme was animal health. Production factors such as feed production, genetics, housing conditions, feeding, hygiene, waste disposal, management, processing, logistics and marketing were considered from the point of view of ensuring animal health and safety of livestock products through the use of modern technologies, digital solutions and traceability systems. It was formed taking into account the interests of the professional audience of participants and visitors of the exhibition: 56 events of various topics and formats, about 250 leading Russian and international experts. The key theme of the program is “Healthy Animals - Healthy Consumers”.

New was that DLG RUS decided to supplement the traditional fair format with an online platform, which made it possible for exhibitors and visitors to connect to the event and stay in contact with the industry. The online platform also made it possible to connect foreign speakers and listeners from different regions of Russia and countries of the world to business events and broadcast business events online.

AGROS Innovation Award: Three gold and seven silver medals were awarded to companies developing innovative solutions in the field of animal and feed production. 10 products that are mostly suitable for the Russian market received the Best Product Award.

The German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) organized a Country Pavilion at AGROS, where 15 German manufacturers presented their “Made in Germany” solutions for animal and feed production.

On 19 May, as part of the AGROS-2021, a business tour was organized for specialists in the livestock industry to an exemplary robotic dairy farm of Lenin State Farm with a livestock number of about 500 cows.

The next AGROS will be held from 25 to 27 January 2022.
