South African poultry farmers intend to build more fattening houses and to counter rising feed costs with higher feed efficiency

Poultry meat is a growth factor in South Africa. Three-quarters of South African poultry farmers are therefore planning to build a fattening house. Among other things, they intend to counter the rising price of feed as a consequence of poorer harvests due to dryness with higher feed efficiency.
