Every year the DLG examines natural mineral, spring and table waters from home and abroad. In order to test constant quality of the water, the experts compare two samples of different ages. The five experts conduct sensory tests of the samples that they have taken from the producers unannounced with a period of about six months in between. The results are additionally backed up by chemical, physical and microbiological tests in the laboratory.
At the 22th DLG Quality Test for Natural Mineral, Spring and Table Water 2012, altogether 212 waters won awards – 206 received the DLG Medal in Gold, 6 the Silver Medal. The special feature of this quality analysis is that both the laboratory and the esters must identify even the slightest deviations from the test criteria set down by the Expert Committee.
