The DLG tests fresh cheese

Every year the DLG tests over 350 different fresh cheese products. Producers from all over Europe take part in the international quality tests. About 85% of all dairy companies in Germany send in their products.

Independent experts scrutinise the sensory qualities of the products. These tests are supplemented by laboratory analyses. For example tests look at whether the fresh cheese possesses the taste, odour and consistency typical for the variety. The samples are called up from the individual producers without advance notice and tasted by experts.

Depending on the number of scores achieved, the beers are awarded DLG Medals in Bronze, Silver or Gold.
