The DLG tests fish & seafood

Fish and seafood (salt fish, preserved sprat and herring, fried and cooked fish products, fish preserves and caviar) are an integral part of the wellness and health trend. Particular value is attached to the quality and enjoyment value in production of these products.


The DLG tests them for   

  • Enjoyment value (technologically sound production/sensory analysis)
  • Practical value/handling (preparation of the product, inspection of packaging)
  • Truth of labelling (laboratory analyses, checking of the label particulars)

Depending on the number of scores achieved, the fish & seafoods are awarded DLG Medals in Bronze, Silver or Gold.
