Bioenergy Italy: renewable energy increasingly seen as the real alternative to traditional energy sources

The farming sector and its huge energy potential is an increasingly important part of a developing market which is more and more aware of new business opportunities. · The second Bioenergy Italy (Cremona), with its 152 exhibitors from 5 countries and 52 highly attended conferences, seminars and workshops, confirmed the interest of agricultural companies, local administrations, the food industry and, obviously, of the professionals related to the renewable energy world

Cremona, March 17, 2012 – It is a matter of fact that renewable energy sources represent the future of energy production at global level but Bioenergy Italy 2012 proved that farms, city councils, provinces, and the food industry, which are the main investors in the field, are increasingly aware of its great potential.
“During the 52 events of Bionergy Italy, visitors, who were only entrepreneurs and professionals,” said Antonio Piva, President of CremonaFiere “found many answers and hints for the development of renewable energy production in Italy. We can say that one hundred per cent of them had clear objectives about the event such as getting information, discovering the latest technologies and the highly qualified products on display. We focused completely on specialization because we know that there is a great thirst for information in the bioenergy field. We succeeded in meeting our main goal that was bringing to Cremona the right people”.
We had all the ingredients to attract to Bionergy Italy the increasingly wide number of professionals related to the renewable energy world. There were not only a selection of 152 high level exhibitors (27% of them from abroad) but also a program of 52 side events, (www.bioenergyitaly.com) created to deepen our knowledge about all the latest in the bioenergy field: regulations, bioplastics, the use of food industry by-products, cutting edge PV technologies, the link between energy production and the territory, professional training courses. The meeting about this last topic, realized in cooperation with the University of Turin, was among the most attended events of the exhibition demonstrating the strong desire for information about the sector.
“No other exhibition is able to provide so many scientific and professional hints.” continues Piva “ The 52 events scheduled in only 3 days confirm Bioenergy Italy as a real  laboratory of ideas, which have to be practical ideas because we are mainly interested in providing business solutions. We share this view with exhibitors who expressed their satisfaction about the high level of expertise of the 8,235 professionals that we offer them as business contacts”.
This specialization on professional targets led to the cooperation with major associations of the bioenergy field who shared this viewpoint and have decisively contributed to the creation of contents for the exhibition, starting from DLG, the German partner of CremonaFiere in the organization of the event.
Furthermore, Bionergy Italy proudly received significant scientific contributions and ideas from important representatives and institutions such as Legambiente, Confagricoltura, AITA (Italian Association of Food Technology), AIIPA (Italian Association of Food Product Industries), ENEA (Italian National Agency, for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development), Consorzio Italiano Biogas, Chimica Verde, Università di Torinoand Università di Milano as well as the support of dozens of Italian and international experts who put their knowledge at disposal during bioenergy side events.
“Bioenergy Italy” ends Piva “proves that renewable energy offers many opportunities not only to the farming sector but to the entire society, we have only to discover them and take the chance. For these reasons, we created Bioenergy Italy with the aim of generating new business from the deep knowledge that is now emerging about the sector in Italy”.
