According to a study conducted by Bloomberg New Energy, in 2010 Italy jumped from eighth to fourth place in the world ranking of the green power field, a sector that is emerging as one of the most dynamic and competitive at world level.
In 2013 Italy could reach the grid parity in the field of solar energy this means that PV energy costs as much as traditional energy sources. At European level also the biogas is plaiyng an important role: according the Global Status Report 2011 of REN21, the energy production from biogas registered an increase of 18% in last year. This important data shows how, in the last years, Italy has developed a green conscience in terms of environmental protection and energy saving with positive economic consequences and an increased request for renewables in the private and public sectors.
