Frankfurt am Main, Germany, June 1St, 2017 – Representatives from AGRITECHNICA’s organizer, DLG (German Agricultural Society), will return to India later this month to conduct a presentation on the exhibition to farming experts from the country, including representatives from the agriculture ministry, farmers’ organizations, consultants and academics.
This AGRITECHNICA preview takes place at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, on 27 June. This exclusive pre-AGRITECHNICA meeting for Indian farming experts, follows the AGRITECHNICA road show event held at Field Days India earlier this year. The preview in Ludhiana, which is being held in conjunction with the Indian office of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA), will feature presentations with topics including: the state of the Indian farm machinery industry; the importance of AGRITECHNICA as a platform for leading machinery manufacturers to showcase innovations; and the advantages an AGRITECHNICA visit can bring to productivity and sustainable development of agricultural business enterprises.
India is an important country for AGRITECHNICA because of its high exhibitor and visitor contingent. In 2015, 38 exhibitors from India took part in the trade fair, which included an Indian pavilion. Many hundreds of farming experts from the country also attended to find out about the latest agricultural developments.
As the country’s farming sector is dominated by smallholders, and the average farm is about two hectares in size, it is not surprising that Indian manufacturers build more tractors than any other country in the world. The combination of high population growth, limited land for expansion in farming, low yields and rising labour cost are propelling demands for mechanization, and India’s agricultural equipment market, estimated to be worth eight billion euros in 2015, is expected to grow at eight to 10 percent annually through to the end of this decade.
It is hardly surprising that AGRITECHNICA is a popular destination for visitors from India as it offers an unparalleled range of solutions well-suited to their industry. They can discover for themselves the latest and most comprehensive range of equipment and solutions, from tractors and harvesters to implements for cultivation, sowing, fertilizer application and crop protection.
AGRITECHNICA 2017 takes place from 12-18 November at Hanover’s Exhibition Grounds. More information for visitors and exhibitors can be found online at: www.Agritechnica.com
