Stand at the AGRA Agricultural Exhibition

Frankfurt am Main, Germany, 16th February, 2017 – Visitors to Bulgaria’s AGRA Agricultural Exhibition will have the opportunity to find out more about Agritechnica, the world’s leading trade fair for agricultural machinery that takes place every two years in Germany.
Representatives from Agritechnica’s organizer, DLG (German Agricultural Society), will be present at the event, which takes place at the Fair Grounds at Plovdiv, about 130km south-east of Sofia, from 22-26 February. They will to provide detailed information on the program for this year’s trade fair, and how farmers and industry experts can attend the European show.
Out of 452,000 total visitors, Agritechnica attracted close to 100,000 international visitors in 2015 – including over 10,000 from the CIS countries which includes Bulgaria. The country is going through immense change in its agricultural industry as consolidation is resulting in farm numbers dropping while average farm sizes increase. According to the 2010 agricultural census, there were 370,220 farms in Bulgaria, which incredibly was 295,000 less than 2003. At the same time, the average farm size increased from 4.4ha to 9.8ha. And despite the fact the number of people regularly working on Bulgarian farms dropped by 45 percent from 1.3 million to 0.7 million between 2003 and 2010, 22 percent of the working population is still involved in Farming, one of the highest proportions recorded among the EU Member States.
The Agritechnica exhibition will offer an unparalleled range of solutions well-suited to Bulgarian farmers, and those from neighboring countries. Visitors can discover for themselves the latest and most comprehensive range of equipment and solutions, from tractors and harvesters to implements for cultivation, sowing, fertilizer application and crop protection.
Leading manufacturers time their innovation cycles and product launches to coincide with Agritechnica, which takes place every two years, and more than 310 innovations were registered at the event in 2015. In addition, Agritechnica offers the unique opportunity for a practical, hands-on experience through on-site field trials that demonstrate the benefits of adopting new farming techniques.
Agritechnica 2017 takes place from 12-18 November at Hanover’s Exhibition Grounds. More than 452,000 visitors and 2,892 exhibitors attended the event in 2015, making it the world’s largest trade fair dedicated to agricultural machinery and technology.
