The SignumTest is by nature a utility value test. As the name implies, this assesses the value of a product in practical testing. The utility value test is based on a test programme devised by an impartial expert commission. It comprises test rig tests including work and transport safety assessments, examinations in practical use, a long-term assignment on working farms, and a survey of users. Animal welfare and environmental protection are special concerns of ours here. The commission assesses the test results in accordance with fixed assessment standards and awards the DLG SignumTest symbol.
DLG receives promotion from the Federal Ministry for Consumer Protection, Food and Agriculture (BMVEL) for this very expensive and comprehensive SignumTest, which it passes on to clients in the form of reduced test fees. The promotion includes a mandate to the DLG to publish test results after successful completion.
