International DLG-Prize 2017

260 emerging young professionals in the agricultural and food industry from 24 different countries have received the award in the past. The 2017 award winners come from the German states of Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Schleswig-Holstein and Saxony as well as from the Ukraine

This year, four Advanced Training awards were presented, each worth EUR 4,000.

The winners are:

  • Thomas Fabry from Balve (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany), Farmer and student of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Applied Sciences in Osnabrück
  • Vroni Hentschel from Hartha (Saxony, Germany), Student of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Halle-Wittenberg
  • Dr. Charlotte Heyer from Bruch (Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany), Research associate at the University of Alberta, Edmonton (Canada)
  • Olena Sobko (Ukraine), Graduation at the University of Hohenheim and at the experimental station Moosburg by Saaten-Union (Garching, Bavaria)

In addition, three Junior prizes were awarded, each endowed with EUR 2,500.

The winners are:

  • Dennis Anders from Windeby (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany), Farmer and graduate at the Höhere Landbauschule in Rendsburg
  • Maria Schlattl from Fürstenstein (Bavaria, Germany), Student of Agricultural Sciences at the Technical University of Munich
  • Melanie Schmitt from Bobenheim-Roxheim (Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany), Student of Agricultural Economics at the University of Applied Sciences in Bingen
  • Veronika Schmölz from Untrasried (Bavaria, Germany), International volunteer in Riobamba (Ecuador)
