Digital agriculture

Digital Agriculture - Opportunities. Risks. Acceptance.

There is a growing demand for data in today's farm management. Being able to monitor animal health and welfare through sensors or even milking robots and improving crop production's efficiency through better resource management are highly requested. Although there are certain reasons to invest in these new technologies, we have to ensure data security and sovereignty. Data collected on a farm has to belong to the farmer.

DLG Trendmonitor Europe

The DLG Trendmonitor Europe is a joint venture of the DLG and the leading agricultural research institute Kleffmann Group. It was developed for the European agricultural sector in 2003. Its results provide an economic trend and indicate current situation in agriculture, the farms’ business, the investment intentions and future expectations of leading farmers twice a year. Therefore 3500 competitive farms from the crop production an animal husbandry sector in Germany, France, Great Britain, Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary are surveyed. Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan are integrated once a year into the analysis since 2008/2009.
