EnergyDecentral goes INTERSOLAR South America und Intersolar India

Cooperation agreement signed – as a “Special Exhibition” at INTERSOLAR in São Paulo and Mumbai starting in 2017

Frankfurt/Pforzheim/Freiburg, 18 November 2016. The international trade fair for innovative energy supply, EnergyDecentral, will be held as a “Special Exhibition” at Intersolar South America and Intersolar India for the first time in 2017. This was decided by the leading trade fair organizers in their sectors, DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft – German Agricultural Society) and Solar Promotion International / Freiburg Management and Marketing International GmbH in a cooperation agreement signed during EuroTier 2016 in Hanover. EnergyDecentral will round off the existing programmes of the leading trade fairs for the solar industry in South America and India with the fields of biomass and biogas for the first time from 22 to 24 August 2017 in Sao Pãulo, Brazil, and from 5 to 7 December 2017 in Mumbai, India. This will provide German and international manufacturers in these sectors with a platform enabling them to enter the South American and Indian markets.
While the focus in Europe is currently on innovations in all areas of decentralized energy production and supply, EnergyDecentral in Brazil and India will be devoted completely to the subject of bioenergy. Special attention will be devoted to developing a relevant technical programme to complement the trade fair. With support from experts in the sector, knowledge is to be transferred in the form of innovative technologies for producing energy from biomass and biogas in the region and the network for companies from the bioenergy sector in South America and India is to be strengthened.
Brazil and India, together with Russia, China and South Africa form the five BRICS countries that show annual economic growth rates of between five and ten per cent and account for about 40 per cent of the world’s population. Agricultural residues and biogenic wastes as well as renewable raw materials for energy production will become increasingly more important in both countries in the future. “We want to tap into these markets together with our exhibitors and interested companies”, says Bernd Koch, Managing Director of DLG International. “And we want to bring the decision-makers in Brazil and India as well as those in the respective neighbouring countries together with the exhibitors.”
Marcus Vagt, Head of the Biogas and Biomass Division and EnergyDecentral Project Manager at DLG, adds: “There is enormous economic potential for energy from biomass in Brazil and India. Use of the wastes generated in India alone at present offers a bioenergetic potential of around 30 gigawatt! The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy in India assumes that up to 5,000 small biomass plants could supply a power output equivalent to that of 2.5 nuclear power stations.”
The cooperation arrangement now agreed unites the complementary strengths of the trade fair organizers FMMI, Solar Promotion International and DLG. Daniel Strowitzki, Managing Director of FMMI, and Dr. Florian Wessendorf, Managing Director of Solar Promotion International, are also firmly convinced of this. “Cooperation with DLG will create synergies for optimal business activities”, say the two Managing Directors.
