More than 300 companies registered for EnergyDecentral show taking place at EuroTier exhibition

EnergyDecentral is the international trade fair for innovative energy supply taking place at in Hanover, Germany,15 to 18 November – the latest trends and international developments surrounding the decentralized supply of electricity and heat to be presented – The 2016 event includes the German Biogas Association’s BIOGAS Convention

FRANKFURT/MAIN, Germany, August 11, 2016 – With the introduction of the Energy Services Act into German law last year, the efficient production and use of energy will be a hot topic at EnergyDecentral 2016. This international trade fair for innovative power supply, taking place at Hanover’s Exhibition Grounds from 15 to 18 November, will feature more than 300 exhibitors presenting the latest trends and international developments related to the decentralized supply of electricity and heat.

All aspects of this important sector will be on show, and there will be companies involved with all types of energy generation, the largest being biogas and cogeneration, energy from straw and wood, and wind power. Intelligent network solutions and energy storage systems will also be at the heart of this year’s event.

EnergyDecentral project manager Marcus Vagt, from event organizer DLG (German Agricultural Society), says that EnergyDecentral will benefit from taking place at the same time as EuroTier, the world’s leading international trade fair for animal production.
“There are proven synergies between agriculture and bioenergy,” he adds, “so the full range of technological developments from substrate preparation to handling of biofuels in the field will be covered.”

This year’s EnergyDecentral will feature a new co-operation with the German Biogas Association that will see the BIOGAS Convention, with more than 70 technical presentations taking place, being held as part of the event for the first time. The association's biogas trade fair will also be integrated into EnergyDecentral, transforming the Hanover Exhibition Grounds into a venue for innovative and pioneering technologies, and a unique platform for new trends and innovations in the biogas industry.
Innovation Showcase
DLG will once again present new product awards to pioneering and innovative developments in the energy industry. The EnergyDecentral innovations medal will be handed out at an awards ceremony taking place at the Hanover event. An international, independent commission of recognized experts will choose the winners.
New: Energy in the food industry
The expansion of the decentralized energy supply sector is currently a key cornerstone for the rebuilding of Germany’s energy infrastructure that includes a growing share of renewable energies. The food industry provides a good example of this because it is currently investing heavily in decentralized projects.

Food companies require particularly innovative solutions to ensure their needs-based energy requirements are met, and the forum of EnergyDecentral, in Hall 25, will feature a special zone dedicated to energy supply in the food industry. This will feature suitable systems for the production of energy from renewable sources, as well as putting system efficiency, and the storage and distribution of energy under the spotlight.
Other suitable solutions for food producers for efficient energy supply can also be found among the decentralized energy supply system manufacturers exhibiting in Hall 24 and Hall 25.
From storage to intelligent networking
As it is now mandatory for CHP plants of almost all sizes to be able to export surplus energy to the electricity network, it is important for operators to find the right partner and profitable solution to integrate their systems in this way. EnergyDecentral has established itself as a leading platform for the contracting and intelligent networking sectors, making the event an essential destination for anyone looking for a network partner.

Other topics that will be on covered at the event include the storage of energy, and flexible access and control systems for CHP equipment. EnergyDecentral will give visitors the opportunity to look at the latest technologies and proven concepts in great detail. Energy storage in particular is increasingly being used in combination with CHP plants and other energy generation systems as it can increase self-sufficiency from the operator’s own energy production, and improve the stability of supply to the network.

The international nature of the event offers visitors ample opportunity to interact with a wide range of companies involved in the energy sector. Exhibitors from home and abroad will provide a complete overview of the infrastructure, products and services involved in decentralized power generation.
New: Special Feature on "CHP – Maintenance & Service"
This year's Special Feature at EnergyDecentral is dedicated to one of the central issues affecting operators of biogas plants and natural gas-fired cogeneration plants in the decentralized power supply sector, and that’s the importance of carrying out proper maintenance and servicing of power-generation systems to enable secure and long-term economic operation. Live shows at EnergyDecentral will demonstrate what’s important in terms of servicing medium-sized combined heat and power (CHP) systems.
Another focus of the Special Feature will be a look at the options available to increase the efficiency of CHP systems through technical retrofits. An intensive review of the current state of technology available to operators will help them address the question of whether replacing existing cogeneration systems with more efficient equipment will provide a better return on investment.

The "CHP - Maintenance & Service" Special Feature will take place in Hall 25 at Hanover’s Exhibition Grounds and will be supported by many manufacturers, component suppliers and maintenance companies from the CHP sector.

 Campus & Career
DLG’s Campus & Career area at EnergyDecentral 2016 offers a platform for professional and career development, science and research. Situated in Hall 26, it will allow visitors to make contact with companies looking for staff; to find out about teaching, study or training opportunities; and opportunities to meet and discuss the latest developments in research in the decentralized energy sector.
