International Field Days in the Volga region with over 9,000 visitors – 169 exhibitors from countries including Russia, Germany, Belarus and France in the exhibition area covering in total 60,000 sqm
From 29 June to 2 July 2016, the International Field Days in the Volga region took place for the second time with support from the German Agricultural Society (DLG e.V.) and Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan. The outdoor exhibition has become an important platform, which presented the entire crop cultivation with all its aspects of soil preparation, seeds, agricultural chemistry and irrigation in the smallest possible space, and was therefore also interesting for agricultural engineering manufacturers. The International Field Days were organised by an international trade fair team IFWexpo Heidelberg and Kazanskaya Yarmarka.
During the four days of the trade fair, over 9,000 visitors from Tatarstan and the neighbouring regions were able to become acquainted with the newest machines and technologies, which were presented in the exhibition area covering in total 60,000 sqm by 169 agricultural companies from Russia, Germany, Belarus and France among others.
The event was opened by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnichanow, the Agricultural Minister of Tatarstan, Marat Achmetow, the Director of the Department for Crop Husbandry, Chemistry and Crop Protection of the Ministry of Agriculture, Petr Tschekmarew, and the Managing Director of DLG International, Bernd Koch.
The specialists of the DLG and the Republic of Tatarstan were also responsible for the extensive programme. In addition to the conference “Agricultural sector today: Problems, tasks and solutions” this also covered narrated demonstrations of field spraying and a practical workshop on the topic of soil profiles. The Field Days are not only a showcase for all the innovations in the agricultural sector, but also provide an impulse for “best practices” and innovative solutions.
Preparations for the third International Field Days event in the Volga region have already begun. The exhibition will take place in July 2017 in Kasan once again. One of the planned new features will be the field robot competition, in which the Tatar colleges and universities will participate.
