President Minnihanov impressed by the depth and range of crop production information – International Field Days event begins in Tatarstan on 29th June
Frankfurt, Germany, 20 June, 2016 – The president of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, visited the DLG-Feldtage last week, where he was received by DLG’s CEO, Dr. Reinhard Grandke and DLG Vice President of Exhibitions, Philipp Schulze Esking.
On a tour of the exhibition grounds, which was set at the Maria Burghausen estate at Hassfurt (Lower Franconia), President Minnikhanov was impressed by the quantity and depth of unique and diverse information available to visitors at the DLG-Feldtage. He expressed a particular interest in the topics of modern crop varieties and new growing techniques.
The DLG maintains good relations with Tatarstan, and the President’s visit took place just two weeks before the International Field Days event opens at Kazan in his country’s Volga region. DLG, together with its subsidiary IFWexpo Heidelberg, held the first International Field Days event in Tatarstan last year, and the outdoor event is based on the the DLG-Feldtage model.
The 2016 International Field Days event in the Volga Region opens on 29th June and lasts until 2nd July. The outdoor event is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, and is expected to attract about 150 exhibitors and 6,500 visitors this year.
