Increase in Spanish exhibitors at the EuroTier exhibition held in Germany November 15-18, 2016
Frankfurt, Germany, April 8, 2016 – Attendees to this year’s Professional Poultry Days known as Jornadas Profesionales de Avicultura, taking place in Seville, Spain, from April 19 to 22, will have the opportunity to find out more about EuroTier, Europe’s leading trade fair for animal production that takes place every two years in Germany.
Featuring equipment and services for all livestock sectors, including aquaculture, cattle, dairy, pigs, poultry, sheep and aquaculture, EuroTier 2016 – which also features the World Poultry Show – offers livestock professionals not only a look at current products and industry trends, but also future technological solutions that could be applied in Spain in the future.
“With the World Poultry Show this year taking place at EuroTier, this complete display of innovations in Hanover in Germany, is particularly relevant for poultry producers in Spain such as the attendees at the Professional Poultry days in Seville,” says the event’s project manager, Dr. Karl Schlösser of the German Agricultural Society (DLG).
In 2014, EuroTier attracted 156,500 attendees, 30,000 of whom came from outside Germany. They were able to see products and solutions displayed by 2,368 exhibitors – 1,145 of which were also based outside the host nation. With 64 exhibiting companies were from Spain in 2014, Spain is considered a strong exhibitor component at EuroTier. At the last EuroTier with World Poultry Show over 1000 visitors came from Spain.
“This year we have seen an increase in Spanish exhibitors at EuroTier. Already over 70 companies have signed up,” adds Dr. Schlösser. “Spain is an important country for livestock technology and traditionally EuroTier has been a key attraction for Spanish companies,” adds Dr. Schlösser.
Visitors will be able to find a range of innovations at the World Poultry Show. A good example of that is information on footpad health and the right way of catching broilers, but lighting solutions in poultry housing and feed additives based on phytogenic substances also received a lot of attention.
EuroTier and the World Poultry Show will be represented with a stand at the Jornadas Profesionales de Avicultura 19-22 April 2016 in Sevilla Spain. The event presents the trends and challenges in the Spanish poultry sector.
Every aspect of livestock production is covered
The subject areas covered by exhibitors at EuroTier and the World Poultry Show include: breeding stock, breeding programs and reproduction technology; feed production and storage; animal housing including controlled-environment technology; machinery and equipment for animal husbandry and feeding; milking equipment and milk storage systems; machinery and equipment for storing and handling solid and liquid manure; food processing equipment; and advisory, management and consultancy services.
EuroTier 2016 will also feature EnergyDecentral. Located in separate exhibition halls at the Hanover Exhibition Grounds, this will showcase a broad range of technological developments in the areas of bioenergy, renewable energy and the technology and concepts around decentralized energy. This section offers good synergy with the agricultural livestock technologies featured at the exhibition.
Furthermore, EuroTier will hosts about 50 in-depth forums on specialist issues. Past topics include: Securing drinking water quality; Resource-conserving and nutritionally beneficial feed – soy protein concentrate; Focus on antibiotic use – treading new ground with essential oils; and Salmonella reduction in broilers and layer hens.
DLG, which organizes the EuroTier exhibition, works closely with three international practical livestock farming organizations founded by the DLG to continually ensure relevant topics are addressed in the technical program accompanying the show. These are: European Pig Producers and the European Poultry Club – Both are located at DLG’s headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany.
EuroTier exhibitors set industry trends
Innovations seen and trends set at EuroTier in the past that have since become important features of the professional poultry sector include: objective inspection and optimal setting of husbandry parameters in line with animal welfare; measures to reduce the use of antibiotics; and the optimization of dung removal systems used in modern keeping systems such as those involving small groups of birds and aviaries.
In addition, new processes in poultry processing that increase product safety and considerably reduce the use of natural resources, thus also contributing to environmental protection, have been introduced to producers for the first time at Hanover. Specific innovations have also been seen in relation to the use of scalding tanks in poultry slaughtering, and novel lighting systems in poultry housing that promote animal welfare requirements.
DLG is a not-for-profit organization based in Frankfurt, Germany. One of its key objectives is to promote international agricultural knowledge across nations, and the society organizes a range of agricultural exhibitions throughout the world including Agritechnica, the largest exhibition of agricultural machinery, and EuroTier, the largest exhibition in Europe for livestock technology. DLG’s activities also include a world-renowned independent agricultural machinery test center, a DLG competence centre for agriculture and a 500-hectare international Crop Production centre as well as a Test Centre for Food.
